Within that data was a light, and in it he saw the possibility of the ultimate Digimon. Shouma saw the remains of a Digimon there that he had never seen before, along with data of an unknown origin. The day before summer vacation he discovered the Special Field (特異領域 Tokui Ryouiki), which according to Mameo is around the time when Shouma stopped going to school. Shouma states that after he began gathering information on every Digimon in order to "seek ultimation," he began to perform one Digital Dive after another into the network (the same kind of Dive that Mameo used to reach the Digital World) and during one such Dive he reached another world. I was expecting that the game would in some way contradict or ignore Digital Card Arena, which also features Analogman, but actually.There's nothing in n0 that says it can't be, and the way Shouma describes his experience in the ending suggests that something like the end of DCA happened. Then after you defeat Shouma and Mameo shows up, Shouma identifies Mameo as the one who defeated him before, and when disappearing he echoes some of Analogman's final lines.
In chapter 4 right before the final battle, when Himari asks Shouma what he plans to do once he's united all worlds into one, Shouma answers: "! Nothing at all.
When you first encounter Mameo late in chapter 1, he summarizes the plot of Digimon World for you, explaining that the ikouchiku (異構築 literally "different system," but they treat it like a type of evolution) that's transforming Digimon into Mugendramon is a "curse," "the grudge left behind by a man who tried to dominate the old Digital World." Mameo explains that after he put a stop to "that man's ambitions," his grudge became the curse, and that Mameo's been trying to stop Digimon from being afflicted by it. Some points about the endgame Shouma is confirmed to be subject to (at least) partial possession by Analogman. Finally finished the main storyline today.
